The aptly named Broad Peak (8051m) and the elusive K2 gradually reveal themselves as we approach Concordia, a vast area where glaciers from K2, the Gasherbrums, and Chogolisa converge. Standing amidst this breathtaking landscape, we set up camp at approximately 4,500 meters on a moraine ridge, encircled by iconic peaks including Gasherbrum IV, Mitre Peak, Chogolisa, Crystal Peak, Marble Peak, Baltoro Kangri, Broad Peak, and the majestic K2. This unparalleled vista offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be within close proximity to four eight-thousanders and ten of the world's highest peaks, making Concordia truly one of the most remarkable places on the planet

The expedition takes a less-traveled route, prioritizing safety and exploration. Participants navigate rugged ice terrain, avoiding crevasses and opting for crampons in snowy conditions, tethered together for added security. Here, they receive essential skills training in preparation for the challenging crossing of Gondogoro La Pass the following day.

After about 3 hours of intense climbing, they reach the summit, greeted by an unparalleled vista encompassing K2, G1, Broad Peak, and G2, the majestic giants of the Baltoro region. Descending demands caution, with fixed ropes and crampons essential for safety, offering glimpses of the striking Laila Peak and other trinity peaks. Every step is carefully navigated to avoid dislodging stones that could endanger fellow team members. As they transition to the moraine, the trail eases, leading to the establishment of camp at Khuispang, nestled at the junction of Gondogoro and Trinity Glacier, a serene sanctuary at 4,600 meters amidst the awe-inspiring Himalayan landscape.

Location : Saicho

Descending from Khuispang, participants stow away climbing gear as the terrain transitions to a more forgiving downward hike, leaving behind the rugged mountainous landscape for the verdant beauty of Hushe Valley. After a satisfying lunch, the journey continues towards the edge of the Gondogoro Glacier, where a trail unveils the enchanting valley adorned with rhubarb and grass. As the valley unfolds, the path splits, presenting two distinct routes to the destination, with the guide and local porters deliberating on the most traversed option. Reuniting on the converging trails, participants encounter stone huts dotting the landscape, signs of local settlements. The trek becomes smoother amidst the comforting presence of towering trees and lower altitudes, offering a welcome respite. Camp is established at Saicho (3,350m), nestled on sandy terrain with patches of grass beside glacier-fed streams, providing a tranquil setting to rest and rejuvenate after a day of exploration.

As they descend, participants encounter the distinctive two-story shelters of Hushe village, where the ground floor is dedicated to cattle and the first floor serves as living quarters for families.
